Former Governor of Kogi state and flag bearer, All Progressive Congress (APC), Prince Abubakar Audu has said that he would declare a state of emergency in the economic and power sectors if elected Governor. Audu gave the statement while receiving over a hundred PDP members who decamped to APC along with a former PDP chieftain, Leke Abejide.
Giving their reasons for decamping to APC, Prince Leke said that PDP would not accept his ideas on repositioning the party hence, their decision to decamp to APC where his ideas would be met.
“Over the years, i have tried to change things within their fold, but i have realised that it will not be. After painstaking deliberations with some of my followers and supporters across the three local councils in the area, and some people outside the state, we decided it is best to move to the APC where the real idea behind my joining politics can be realised”, he said.
